Corvallis’ 10th annual Polar Bear Swim will again give the intrepid a chance to start the new year with a bracing leap into an unheated outdoor pool. The plunge is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, at the Osborn Aquatic Center, 1940 N.W. Highland Drive.

Haha my friend did the polar bear plunge last year. They were told that you should not dive in head first because it can somehow make your heart stop. I think in Russia this is a more popular activity and it is even thought to be healthy because it increases your general immunity=)

These guys/girls are crazy. It sort of reminds me of the polar bears club in Coney Island. they run into freezing water every year in Coney Islane NY.
Meh, I don’t know about the guy in the oversized diaper. I think I could’ve done without that! The safety pin is a little disturbing, but the pacifier has given me the shivers!
