There are several photographers there, somewhere.

Another day at the park

anotherdayatthepark-5

I freed up some time last week to visit my favorite park in the whole world and just meandered through the park, taking pot shots of whatever. Great day!

Beauty Queens at the Park

Beauty Queens @ Millennium Park-2

I just had to take a photo of them being photographed. They were just too cute to pass up.

Meet Up at the Bean and Luminous Field

photomeetups-43

Several of the photo meet up groups I belong to – Flickr, Chicagoland, Long Exposure, and the Filipinos of Greater Chicago – were at the Luminous Field installation on the Saturday of the weekend before it closed. I went there on my own – but of course I was happy to see many of my [...]

Luminous Field Revisited

Uncommon Revisited

My photowalk buddy, topmedic taking photos of the funky light formation projected to the underbelly of Cloud Gate During its ten day run at the AT&T Plaza in Millennium Park, I made it a point to visit this incredible art, video and sound installation by Luftwerk collective with music presented by the Third Coast Percussion [...]

Flickr Leap 2012

Leap

I was at Millennium Park earlier to day to … take a photo of me leaping. I figured, it would be best to do this in my favorite photo subject – The Bean! The exercise was in response to Flickr’s call to take a photo of people jumping … because today is the extra day [...]

Skate Millennium Park

skates

A family of photographers taking pictures of the skaters on the Millennium Park Skating Rink earlier today One of the best and popular winter time activities in downtown Chicago is skating at Millennium Park. The breathtaking view of the skyline, the Bean and its proximity to Michigan Ave., is a plus … and also, it’s [...]

Silvery Moon

Last night’s shoot at Millennium Park in Chicago.

Equinox

henge-3

Photographers at last week’s “Chicagohenge,” a phenomenon that happens twice a year when the sun sets right in the middle of Chicago’s East/West streets thereby creating a “Stonehenge” effect when viewed through downtown streets. Taken from Millennium Park through Washington St. in the loop.

My city aglow

city glow-3

Chicago was absolutely glowing last night … lucky Lollapalooza fans.

Blue Chicago

chicago blue-4

For the past several nights, Chicago has been enjoying terrifically electrifying blue sky at sundown. This is the best time to go out photographing because the light is even and diffused. And many photographers are taking the opportunity to go out there and click.

Millennium Park

It’s always great to people watch at Chicago’s Millennium Park. I go there almost everyday now.

Prom pictures at The Bean

Caught smoking

Love going to the Bean right now – so much photo activities!

It’s Prom Season Once Again!

Prom Season-2

Students from some school in their prom attire. Now that I no longer keep regular hours, I tend to forget where in the academic calendar this time is … I keep on reminding myself that it is summer and kids are out of school. In my former life, this time would be the busiest time [...]

Late for the ceremonies

Civil Union Ceremonies

Earlier today, about 30 same sex couples held public civil union ceremonies under the law that took effect yesterday. Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to take pictures of the couples, as I was still printing stuff for the Chicago Photography Collective exhibit entitled “One Roof, Different Worlds,” that opened earlier today. I [...]

Family outing

Family Outing-5

The father first took the picture of his family, most probably with his in-laws, then asked a passer by to take their picture. Just a slice of life at Chicago’s Millennium Park AT&T Plaza where Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate (the Bean) is located. Now that I am in downtown most of the week, I find [...]

Foggy day at the park …

Foggy Day at the Park-10

Really spectacular fog covering most of downtown … all taken with my iPhone.
