I was standing in the corner of State and Randolph Streets in Chicago at about 2 pm in the afternoon today, waiting for the cross light to turn WALK when I saw this fire engine stop right on the corner with its crew members running to the fire hydrant. I decided to watch, with my camera ready, hoping that they were going to turn the hydrant on so people could cool off.
Then, while I was happily clicking away as the firemen were doing their thing, my friend from the Chicago Photography Collective, the fabulous street photographer, Matt Tuteur tapped me on my shoulder – he was also on a walkabout doing what he is good at …
