Another blast from the past

I was waiting for some of my photo buddies to come out of the Art Institute of Chicago (where they were doing a photo walk) … when a mass of people gathered on the steps of the Museum. They were waiting to get in as it was a free night. Suddenly, one of them raised her camera and took a picture of the building across. Good for me! Taken in July of 2006!

  1. I like this photo, especially the way you’ve captured the statue of the lion, brightly lit, right in centre-stage.

  3. Chicago is a beautiful city, but Bangkok, Thailand. It is a beautiful city. Ideal for travel as well.

Haha, don’t you love it when you accidentally capture someone’s flash and it contributes to the photograph?

I usually only have this happen at large events with lots of point and shoot cameras. What were the camera settings in this picture?

Good evening light, I like it.

  6. What a view! It looks like the Victorian era except for the skycrapers in the front.

  7. I like the view. But I wonder what would people say if this photo were shown in the classical era. They might say that the skyscaper at the front is the most beautiful in the world.

I love how my eyes follow the lights along the street.

Love this blog. Nobody has ever photographed me taking photographs….at least I hope not because I am a boudoir photographer!

    where is that palace ?!!

  11. It looks like New York Photoshopped to make it look 18th century. The photo would have been perfect without the skyscraper.

I love the way all of the lights from the other buildings and the street light surround the museum. The way everything is lit up and you have this big stone building just sitting there. Having the statue of the lion being centered was a great touch as well.
