Recently, I had the pleasure of shooting American Bald Eagles in LeClaire, Iowa organized by members of the Chicago Flickr Meet Up Club. You’ve seen some of my shots of the shoot here: Photographing in the cold and Mississippi River
I didn’t realize though that I have actually met some of the members of the photoshoot about two years ago during the First Worldwide Kelby Photowalk, August 23, 2008, led by Charlie Guild, in Lincoln Park (Chicago). Charlie also led the eagle shoot. I didn’t know them then, I just took pictures of them …
I was cleaning up one of my hard drives when I found these photos buried somewhere …
Some shots from the photo walk. I actually also featured the walk here before: Green Market. Forgot about that.
You can also find more of my shots from the eagle photoshoot in my flickr stream where you’ll see how the members look now
.
And here’s the group (originally posted by Friendly American) – the first one taken at the site and the second one at the hotel where we did our post-processing and lighting workshop :

Funny how everyone’s wearing a camera around their neck but they’re not shooting. This really is an ingenious concept for your blog.
Seems to be having a wonderful time
Michelle: I agree … I was the only one snapping pictures while we were gathering and listening to instructions. The photographing started after we walked.
Seem a very nice group, did you pass a good day?
It would have been great to meet again after two years…hope you all enjoyed yourself!
They really have some happy hours in this time. Love to join them.. I’m always working alone! Lol..
