Chicago Picasso with Olympics 2016 bid emblem
This is a little bit late. I took this during the rally last month (Oct. 2) at the Daley Plaza in downtown Chicago where hundreds of Olympics 2016 bid supporters congregated to wait for the announcement about who would be awarded the prize to host the Olympics in 2016.
Chicago, as you know by now, didn’t get it – it was eliminated at the first round. Rio de Janeiro got the plum prize. People were stunned. But many people had just to take pictures of the untitled Picasso installation (fondly called the Chicago Picasso though) emblazoned with the Chicago Olympics 2016 bid logo. For souvenir purposes, I guess.

Nice view from back
what’s that? a statue?
too bad chicago beat by Rio De Janeiro
Well, we have to admit that it’s a “monument” a bit strange. Isn’t it?
Even though the photo is taken a little bit late, It still looks nice.
It looks like a mordern take on Inca art. I like it.

That is very interesting logo. But honestly about the whole Chicago 2016 Olympics I’m not sure that States would be the best choice after 1996 Atlanta made out of sport show – another commercial show. I think that there should pass more time before States will get another huge sport party such as Olympic games.
Yeah, it still looks nice. And is that a statutue? I like it.
Great how the shape of the photographer mirrors the sculpture! I took a similar one in Sussex, UK.
What is that ??? It looks so great . Wish I was there to see it too . Its a shame we lost the bid to Rio de Janeiro . I really hoped we could host it . Anyways good luck everybody .
While I am happy that Rio is going to get a chance to host, I am skeptical of their government’s ability to handle the crime problem.
